City of Corpus Christi Employee, Megan Ysassi, Wins Area International Speech Contest

Each year, the Toastmasters International Convention culminates in the final round of the International Speech Contest, where the World Champion of Public Speaking is chosen. In this exciting event, 10 contestants from all over the world deliver 5- to 7-minute speeches that are evaluated by a panel of experienced Toastmasters.

We are proud to announce that one of our City of Corpus Christi Employee’s, Megan Ysassi, who is the Learning and Development Analyst in the Human Resources Department, was victorious representing the City’s Toastmasters Club – Aqua Vitae – during the 2018 International Speech Contest. She won first place at the Corpus Christi Area Speech Contest hosted by Del Mar College Center for Economic Development.

Megan will now move onto the Division Contest representing Corpus Christi, competing against the cities of McAllen, Brownsville, Edinburgh, and Victoria.

We are cheering her on as she advances for the chance to win the prestigious accolade of World Champion of Public Speaking.
