Corpus Christi Animal Care Services (CCACS) has declared Friday, July 25th to be Hot Dawg & Cool Cats Day and will be hosting a mega adoption event. Each year millions of people find a devoted housemate at their local shelter. CCACS encourages Corpus Christi residents and the greater south Texas area to “Opt to Adopt” and will open this adoption event to allow any resident in the State of Texas to adopt a shelter animal from CCACS. Nothing says “welcome home” like a wagging tail and a pair of warm brown eyes.

You can help your new friend settle in – and minimize wear and tear on your abode – by making some strategic training and home design choices. CCACS has compiled a booklet of important solutions to common new-pet problems. The booklet is given to all new adopters and covers everything from house breaking (potty training) to socializing and so much more. CCACS is dedicated to making the adoption experience all inclusive with adoption counselors standing by to answer your questions. CCACS even offer a follow up email address to allow new pet owners to ask questions after they adopt.

CCACS realizes that all pet related questions are unique and valuable in keeping the animal in his new home. A tip sheet prepared by the ASPCA also offers dog-lovers solutions to their dog vs. décor woes. (Available online at .
