Municipal Court Technology to Improve Public Services

The public asked for it and the City listened, paying citations is about to get a lot easier thanks to technology upgrades coming to the Municipal Court system, providing greater efficiency, public responsiveness and employee productivity.

The City selected Tyler Technologies, Incode court management software to replace its antiquated municipal court software that lacked modern features, such as financial and collection modules. The applications are expected to improve court functions including court case and jury management, warrant and citation import, scheduling, court notifications and a secure online payment system. “The online payment process will make a huge difference in reducing the volume of foot traffic Municipal Court handles, which will mean less wait time and shorter lines for customers and a more productive, accountable staff, while sustaining our position as a paperless court,” said Corpus Christi’s Director of Municipal Court Kimberly Jozwiak.

A necessary step in the implementation process will require the court to be closed to the public Monday, August 25th through Friday, August 29th.

Nationwide, more than 750 municipal courts utilize the Incode technology including the Texas cities of Tyler, Arlington, Plano and Mesquite. The City’s new court management system is expected to go live, Tuesday, September 2nd.
