Veteran Police Officers Promoted

The Corpus Christi Police Department has two newly promoted officers who between them have more than 40 years of law enforcement experience.

This morning, Chief of Police Floyd Simpson honored the officers during a promotion ceremony at CCPD Headquarters.

Kelly Isaacks was hired by the City of Corpus Christi Police Department in January 1990. She attended the 45th Academy Class, graduating in July 1990 and was assigned to the Uniform Division. Over the years, she has worked in Narcotics-Vice Investigations, the Organized Crime Unit and most recently was a Lieutenant in the Criminal Investigation Division. During her time there, she supervised several units including Financial Crimes, Auto Theft and Robbery/Homicide. The 24 year police veteran has a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Journalism from the University of Texas.

Senior Officer Javier Cantu was hired by the City of Corpus Christi Police Department in January 1998, after spending two years as a Police Officer for the City of Kingsville. He attended the Corpus Christi Police Department’s 56th Academy Class, graduated in July 1998 and was assigned to the Uniform Division. In February 2001, he passed the proficiency exam to attain the rank of Senior Officer. In July 2011, Cantu was selected as the Uniform Division Officer of the Month. The 16 year veteran has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and is nearing completion of a Master’s Degree from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

Both officers will be assigned to the Uniform Division.
