Wherever employees choose to give back, the City of Corpus Christi is proud to provide its support. To encourage employees in their volunteer efforts, we have launched a volunteer service log and we are asking employees who participate in volunteer activities to log their hours so they can be eligible to receive the Volunteer of the Year award. This award is given to all employees who log hours in the volunteer log.
To kick off our Volunteer Service Log, we are offering an opportunity to participate in a great service, by simply giving your time.
“Did you know that the national average of a homeless person is 9 years old? In Corpus Christi there are an estimated 1,400 homeless children in our area alone, an under-reported figure at that!”
Question: How can you help feed the hungry and shelter the homeless in our community?
Answer: You can sign up to get a free lunch and tour of Corpus Christi Metro Ministries and have something to share with your co-workers, family, and friends about how you are helping create a community that is free from hunger and homelessness. Giving back and supporting your community doesn’t always mean giving money. We would love for each and everyone of you to consider attending during your lunch hour for a brief Tour of Metro Ministries Organization on the following dates:
LOCATION: Corpus Christi Metro Ministries, 1919 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, TX. 78408
Interested in being involved: If you have any ideas of local community related events that we can help promote through our City’s volunteer network, or you want to know more about our Volunteer of the Year awards, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
