Fire Department Employee Performance Reviews

The City of Corpus Christi’s Employee Performance Review Process is designed to:

  1. Communicate employee performance expectations and measure performance;
  2. Document and recognize superior employee performance;
  3. Continuously improve organizational employee performance to ensure that the City of Corpus Christi is the benchmark among Texas cities.

To encourage exceptional employee performance of the employees it is important for supervisors to:

  1. Lead by example. Meet with direct reports regularly throughout the process to establish expectations, identify and provide training and support, evaluate progress and document results.
  2. Ensure that managers and supervisors demonstrate and communicate this example throughout the organization.
  3. Ensure those performance ratings are well documented, consistent throughout the organization and submitted to all employees in a timely manner.

The Fire department has a semi-annual process for performance appraisals:

1. October 1 – March 30 (Review Date April 1; Review Deadline April 30)
2. April 1 – September 30 (Review Date October 1; Review Deadline October 31)

DATES: The training dates are as follows:

  1. Tuesday, August 14, 2018:
    9am – 10am, 10:30am – 11:30am, 1pm-2pm, 2:30pm-3:30pm, 4pm-5pm
  2. Wednesday, August 15, 2018:
    9am – 10am, 10:30am – 11:30am, 1pm-2pm, 2:30pm-3:30pm, 4pm-5pm
  3. Thursday, August 16, 2018:
    9am – 10am, 10:30am – 11:30am, 1pm-2pm, 2:30pm-3:30pm, 4pm-5pm

 

TIMES: There will be 5 sessions per day at the following times:

  1. 9am – 10am
  2. 10:30am – 11:30am
  3. 1pm – 2pm
  4. 2:30pm – 3:30pm
  5. 4pm – 5pm
