Bringing the dream of a college education closer to reality is what the City of Corpus Christi Employee Education Assistance Programs help fund. As the cost to attend colleges and universities continue to rise, the City supports a range of opportunities to ensure our employees have the chance to pursue higher education.

Featured Scholarships

The WGU $2,000 Women Who Choose To Lead Scholarship. Lead the Change. Earn a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, IT, K–12 education, or healthcare (including nursing). Valued at $2,000. The WGU $2,000 Sage Scholarship. This scholarship is available to all new WGU students who want to earn a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business or information technology. Valued at $2,000. Through partnership with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s Master’s in Public Administration program, when possible, the City of Corpus Christi makes the best effort to provide our employees with the Student Success Scholarship – a 100% scholarship program for 12 credit hours of the 36 credit hour Master’s program, exclusively for employee of the City of Corpus Christi. Read more…>>

Through a partnership with Ashford University’s Forbes School of Business when possible, the City of Corpus Christi makes the best effort to provide our employees with the Full Tuition Grant Scholarship – a 100% scholarship program for Undergraduate commitment of 7-10 courses per year and Graduate Student commitment of 5-8 courses exclusively for employees of the City of Corpus Christi. Stars Scholarship Fund

  • Community College: Students who will be attending a Community College for the new academic year and will be enrolled PART-TIME (6+ hours) during each semester or Students who will be attending a Community College for the new academic year and will be enrolled FULL-TIME (12+ hours) during each semester. Part-time or full-time will be determined at time of verification of enrollment for recipients (full award for full-time, half award for part-time).
  • Undergraduate Full-Time: Students who will be attending a university for the new academic year in an undergraduate (Bachelor’s) program and will be enrolled FULL-TIME (12+ hours) during each semester.*
  • Graduate Full-Time: Students who will be attending a university for the new academic year in an graduate (Master’s, Law or Doctoral) program and will be enrolled FULL-TIME (9+ hours) during each semester.*
