Effective teams must use deliberate planning strategies to identify issues and needs.

We will help you facilitate a SWOT analysis session for your team.

WHAT IS A SWOT? A SWOT analysis is a deliberate planning method used to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of an organization or project. The acronym SWOT stands for:

  1. S = Strengths: Internal attributes of the organization that are helpful to achieving the goal(s)
  2. W = Weaknesses: Internal attributes of the organization that are harmful to achieving the goal(s)
  3. O = Opportunities: External conditions that are helpful to achieving the goal(s)
  4. T = Threats: External conditions which could do damage to the goal(s)

Doing a SWOT analysis is a straightforward process that will allow your organization to reach their goals successfully.

WHY USE US? While a manager, team or project leader can lead their own SWOT analysis, it is often helpful to use an independent facilitator in order to free up the leader to fully participate and not bias the input from others. The Learning Institute Team has facilitated many of these sessions successfully. The sessions we conduct help in identifying the ways in which all four areas affect the work being done. This knowledge will help you plan for ongoing success.
