“Mr. Viera has a combination of experience and proven leadership skills to manage the City’s human resource efforts,” said City Manager Margie C. Rose. “He understands the vital role employees play in fulfilling our mission while balancing the best interests for the organization and our citizens,” add Ms. Rose.
Mr. Viera has over 19 years of human resources experience and has held various positions within the City of Corpus Christi including Benefits Manager, Insurance/Benefits Coordinator and most recently Interim Director of Human Resources. He also has human resource experience with Del Mar College and State Farm Insurance. Mr. Viera holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration both from the University of Incarnate Word.
“It is an honor to be appointed to serve the citizens of Corpus Christi in this new capacity,” said Steven Viera. “I am looking forward to supporting City business objectives with a variety of workforce initiatives,” added Viera.
